These butterflies are safely nestled in individual glassine envelopes and kept cool until immediately prior to the photo shoot to maintain their resting state. This allows the butterflies to be gently posed on bouquets, bridal gowns, etc. where they will remain for approximately 30-60 seconds as they warm and wake up from their resting state. Monarch butterflies are very friendly and fearless little creatures so they may linger a bit for some less formal candid shots!
